Welcome

Shifting Midnight fuses lyrically-driven acoustic ballads with energetic guitars, inspiring raised cigarette lighters through one song, and pumped fists through the next.

Shifting Midnight formed in early 2008 when lead singer Kevin Reagan moved to the Gulf Coast of Alabama and met guitarist Andy Bell as a coworker. The two almost immediately began to play acoustic sets at local venues and open mics, writing songs, and recording demos. After Kevin met drummer Matt Bishop through mutual friends in late 2008, Matt was asked to sit in for a practice session, and soon became the third member of the band. The trio is currently playing gigs in the Gulf Coast area and recording songs for their debut album, Shift Happens.

Formation Date:

November 2, 2007

Label Type:

Unsigned

Band Members:

Kevin Reagan - Vocals/Guitar
Andy Bell - Guitar
Matt Bishop - Drums

Latest Studio Time

On April 4th 2009, tha band got some studio time at Jada Studios in Mobile, AL. An all day event that worked the band hard. But in the end turned out two very nice songs. We finished up what we started with the bands first rock song "Last Chance" and polished off the session with the bands first original "Excuse Me". Both are now loaded on the music player under the Music Tab on the home page. Hope you enjoy.

A special thanks goes out to Matt Damico the producer/sound engineer for doing a spctacular job with our stuff. He's great with the studio gear and has awesome ideas. Thanks Matt!

It's in the works!

A lot of our fans (Both of them) have asked when we're going to add something to the jukebox or when we're playing our next gig. Well we're working hard with quite a few new originals. And I would love to post them right now but I want to make sure we don't rush it and give you a good tune to listen too. Be patient. And when we schedule our next gig I will definatley post it here. Check back regularly!

Website security!

OK, the website security with registration has been improved. We've had some recent issues with spam. Didn't realize we were important enough to catch spam. But I've improved registration security with email confirmation, COPPA, and a few other things. Hope this helps.

The Loudness War!

Well with the release of Metallica's new album "Death Magnetic", the loudness war rages on.

The war needs your assistance!

I'm sure you've read or heard about the "Loudness War". Well, this subject has gone nuclear. Metallica fans *****ed loud and long enough to get major media outlets involved.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/soun...ica-album.html

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122228767729272339.html

and the list goes on....anyways

One radio station in Australia has gone so far as to play the GH3 rips instead of the original CD.

Some of the more vocal people from the Metallica BB have put their money where their mouths are and started a website/forum focused on the loudness war and what it's doing to music. It's barely over a day online and it is getting a rave response. This is where you guys come in.

Please stop in and register for the site. Posting a few times would be EVEN BETTER!! They allready have some music industry people working with them in the shadows and they plan to blow this up as big as possible. Even if nothing changes, they want to educate the public about this issue. I wasn't as aware of it till Death Magnetic came out and a good friend brought it up (Thanks Scott).

Stop by and register. They would GREATLY appreciate it. Also, post the link on any music related site you visit. (Done Scott). They need all the help they can get.

www.musicquality.org (that is a temporary name)

One last thing. This not just about Metallica. This is directed at the music industry as a whole because it effects ALL genres of music. Just look at the wikipedia entries for albums effected by over compression and a detailed explanation of what it is.

THANKS GUYS!!!
